Terms of Service
The agreement between you and us when you book a journey — what we are responsible for, what you are, and how disputes are handled.
Last updated:
These terms govern your use of Kamba Trips and any journey you book through us. Booking a trip creates a contract, so this is written to be read rather than skimmed past — the sections on payment, cancellation and liability are the ones that will matter if something goes wrong.
Who you are contracting with
Kamba Trips is operated by Kamba Trips Journeys Pvt Ltd, registered in India at Ideal Homes, Near Nimishamba Temple, RR Nagar, Bengaluru, Karnataka 560098, India. In these terms "we", "us" and "our" mean that company; "you" means the person making the booking.
We act as a travel organiser. Some elements of a journey — hotels, guides, permits, internal flights — are delivered by independent suppliers we select and brief. Where we package those elements and sell them as one journey, we are responsible for the package as a whole, not merely for making the introduction.
Using this site
- You must be eighteen or over to make a booking or hold an account.
- The details you give us must be accurate. A misspelled name on a passport-linked booking can invalidate a permit, and corrections after ticketing often carry a supplier fee.
- Your account is yours alone. Keep the password private and tell us promptly if you believe it has been compromised.
- Do not attempt to scrape, overload, reverse-engineer or gain unauthorised access to any part of the site.
- Reviews and uploaded photographs must be your own work and describe a trip you actually took.
How a booking is made
Prices and itineraries shown on the site are an invitation to enquire, not a binding offer. A journey is only confirmed when we issue a written confirmation naming the travellers, the dates and the final price.
- Enquiry
- You tell us roughly when and how you want to travel. No obligation on either side.
- Quote
- We return a route and a price, held for fourteen days unless it depends on a fare or permit that expires sooner — in which case we say so on the quote.
- Deposit
- Twenty-five per cent of the journey price confirms the booking and lets us hold rooms and guides in your name.
- Balance
- Due thirty days before departure. For bookings made inside thirty days, the full amount is due at confirmation.
- Confirmation
- Our written confirmation plus these terms form the contract. Read it on arrival and tell us within forty-eight hours if anything is wrong.
An obvious pricing error — a figure missing a digit, say — does not bind us. If one occurs we will tell you before taking payment and you may proceed at the correct price or withdraw for a full refund of anything paid.
Prices and payment
- Prices are quoted in Indian rupees and include applicable GST unless the quote states otherwise.
- Card payments are taken on our payment provider’s hosted page. We never see or store your full card number.
- Once a journey is confirmed, the price is fixed. We do not pass on later currency movements or supplier increases.
- Where a government levy, permit fee or tax is newly introduced or raised after confirmation, we may pass on that specific amount at cost, with the notice shown on your confirmation.
- If a balance is not paid by its due date we will chase it before doing anything else. We may treat the booking as cancelled only after written notice and a reasonable chance to pay.
Changes to a confirmed journey
Travel moves. Tell us as early as you can and we will do what the suppliers allow.
- Changes you request are subject to availability and to whatever the supplier charges us, which we pass on at cost plus nothing.
- Minor changes we make — a hotel of equal standard, a reordered day, a different guide — do not entitle you to cancel without charge, though we will always tell you about them.
- A significant change — a materially lower standard of accommodation, a change of more than twenty-four hours to the departure date, or the loss of a headline element of the itinerary — gives you the choice of accepting it, taking an alternative journey, or cancelling for a full refund.
- If we must cancel for reasons outside our control, you receive a full refund of monies paid to us. That is the limit of our liability in those circumstances.
Cancellation by you, and the refund that follows, are governed by the Cancellation Policy. It forms part of these terms and prevails over anything in this section that conflicts with it.
What we need from you
- Valid passports, visas and permits are your responsibility. We will tell you what a journey requires, but we cannot obtain them for you and we cannot refund a journey missed for want of a visa.
- Travel insurance is strongly recommended and is a condition of booking on journeys involving trekking, high altitude or remote regions. It should cover medical treatment, repatriation and cancellation.
- Tell us about any medical or mobility condition that affects what you can do on the ground. Withholding it risks your safety and the group’s, and may mean an operator declines to carry you.
- Follow the reasonable instructions of guides and operators, particularly on wildlife, water and altitude. We may end a journey without refund where behaviour endangers others.
- Respect local law and custom. Some sites restrict photography, dress or access, and the penalties are not ours to waive.
Our liability
We accept responsibility for the journey we sold you being delivered with reasonable skill and care, including where the failing is a supplier’s rather than ours.
- Our liability for a journey is limited to the price you paid for it, except for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud — neither of which can be limited by contract, and we do not attempt to.
- We are not liable for events outside our reasonable control: war, civil unrest, terrorism, epidemic, natural disaster, extreme weather, airport or border closure, or government action.
- We are not liable for loss arising from your own breach of these terms, such as a missed departure caused by incorrect passport details you supplied.
- Nothing here affects your statutory rights under the Consumer Protection Act 2019.
Content and intellectual property
Itineraries, written descriptions, page design and commissioned photography on this site belong to us or to our licensors. You may share links freely, and quote short extracts with attribution, but wholesale copying of itineraries or imagery is not permitted.
When you post a review or upload a photograph, you keep ownership of it and grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to display it on the site and in related marketing. You can ask us to remove your contribution at any time, and we will — though it may persist in cached copies elsewhere for a while, which is outside our control.
We moderate contributions. We may decline or remove anything unlawful, abusive, misleading, or unrelated to a journey actually taken.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts at Bengaluru, Karnataka have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere, this does not deprive you of any protection you have under the mandatory law of your own country.
Talk to us first. Most complaints are a misunderstanding about what was included, and are resolved in a single phone call. If a dispute does persist, we will attempt mediation in good faith before either side goes to court.
Changes to these terms
We may revise these terms. The version that applies to your journey is the one in force when your booking was confirmed, and we keep a copy on your booking record — a later revision cannot alter a contract already made.
How to reach us
Questions about these terms or a confirmed booking go to our team directly. We aim to acknowledge within one working day and to resolve within thirty days, which is the statutory ceiling for a data request under the DPDP Act.
